A photo taken in early 1986, from my bedroom window on the Fairfield Estate in Scartho.
It is of a 2 year old Leyland Olympian ONTL11/1R, no.72, A72 GEE, with very smart ECW H45-31F Body.
It is seen wearing its original caramel and cream livery, but which by 1986, had received the GCT Parrots and logo to promote the company upon deregulation.
No.72 went on to serve until the early 2000's. It was one of a batch of 4, delivered in 1984, of which the first two had single door layout (Nos.71 & 72) and the other two had more traditional GCT dual-door layout (Nos.73 & 74).
Sadly, this one did not survive the horrendous depot fire of 2001-2.
