I'm pleased to say that the Barnsley (and other) Bus Breakers Wagons group now has 1000 pictures in it!
What better way to celebrate all things 'Barnsley Wagon' related than with this extraordinary picture taken by my friend Charles Roberts on the 14th October 1981.
Charles was in the back of a minibus on the M62 when up ahead he spotted MPTE Leyland Atlantean L855 hanging off the hook of CF Booth's AEC Mercury hooklift based wrecker as it headed back to their Rotherham scrapyard. He duly asked his driver to pull into the outside lane so he could get this gem of a picture of FKF855E and its Ergomatic cabbed motive-power.
Here's to my fellow admin Mark, all the group contributors and the next 1000 pictures- however long it may take :)
