Sometimes technical faults can turn out great. When I took this shot of a common branded skipper (Hesperia comma) on a thistle, I was using a Meike MK300 flash, which in itself was nice - but mine kept overheating easily and when I took this it did - resulting in too weak flash power to properly expose the subject.
For some reason it came out quite cool anyway with a sort of psudo-backlight effect!
The large skipper (Ochlodes sylvanus) has hotten it's scientific name after Sylvanus, the Roman god of woods and uncultivated lands. This one was hanging out at the edge of the lawn at my mom's summer house though-
