My Mallorca, November 2017 set in my European Union collection.
On our second day in Rome, Mike and I visited St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums. We explored the interior of the basilica in the morning, then returned in the afternoon (after touring the museums) to climb to the top of Michelangelo's famous dome.
After climbing 320 steps from the basilica's rooftop to the observation area at the top of the dome, where we took in the spectacular 360-degree panorama, Mike and I made our way back down. Before descending to ground level again, we paused to take a few pictures of the dome and surrounding views. Mike took this photo of us using a selfie stick. Behind us, you can see the massive pillars and tall windows that surround the drum of the central dome; to the upper right, you can see one of the smaller chapel domes that grace the basilica. There are four round domes surrounding the large central dome (the one behind us is the Gregorian Chapel dome), and six smaller elliptical domes over the chapels along the basilica's nave.
On August 22, 2015, I attended the 3rd Annual WERK Fashion Show at ACL Live at The Moody Theater (310 W. Willie Nelson Blvd. [a.k.a. W. 2nd St.]). The show was presented by Austin Pride and featured a number of Project Runway designers. The twelfth collection of the evening was by Daniel Esquivel, the talented Austin-based fashion designer who appeared in Project Runway Season 11 and Project Runway: All Stars Season 3. His collection featured a nice mix of menswear and women's fashions, with some interesting prints. I loved the teddy-bear head shoes/slippers worn by this model...who happens to be Daniel's son, Andrew!
