I can't quite believer it has taken over 5 hours to get from there (check-in) to here (departures lounge).

I'm now through security and into the departures lounge.
The food choices in Norman Manley Airport are limited. I go with Burger King. A disinterested employee takes my order from behind a plastic COVID style panel. I struggle to hear her. There is a tannoy speaker right next to Burger King frontage that doesn't help.
I pay and wait. And wait. And wait some more. I've got a headache due to the amount of time I've been at this nice looking but facility lacking airport. I need fuel I've not had any lunch.
It is finally ready, another disinterested employee reads out the ticket number in a really quiet voice. I struggle to hear her over the tannnoy.
I take the bag and find a seat, I open the bag to find the wrong order. I eat it anyway.
I feel slightly better.
As I wander away I spot the people who were arguing with the parking guys and police officer. - they were still wound up and explaining it all to the bar tender.
The hatched zone is for dropping off only. Anything other results in a clamped wheel and a $3,000 Jamaican dollar fine (£15). They argued with the parking guys so they called the police, and then argued with him.
It was entertainment while I waited for the check-in to open I guess. For a modern airport it is very odd - it has no seats whatsoever in the check-in area.

There something strange about this airport. There is not a single seat in the whole of this departure hall. Why is this? Did they experience hoards of people hanging around for hours to get out the hot sun? I'd love to know the real reason....
...but luckily I know of an area of the airport that has seating. I spotted it when I picked up the rental car. It is on the arrivals side of the airport, and involves going outside in the +30 degree heat.
I take a seat, put on my headphones and wait it out, people watching to while away the time. I falling asleep at one point.
It's time to hand back my rental car at Norman Manley Airport. I'm here early, incredibly early, but I don't have anywhere to go (especially with all your luggage and valuables) after checking out the hotel at midday. I wanted to check out later, but that's another story... I step into the shade as the sun is incredibly strong and hot.
Kilometres driven: 740
Likes: automatic gearbox, enough power, LED headlights, large boot.
Dislikes: indicator stalk on the wring side! (it's on the right), basic model, fuel consumption seems high.
