On Monday, April 14th, 2025 about 2 pm, Hazzard Range County first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Main St ( NM 168 ) and Mt Ave in Sparta to report of a rear-end collision.
New Mexico State Police District 13 Captain Jan Ford told the Bulletin that County Undersheriff Ron Bayerd was stopped at the intersection waiting to turn south, when a 49-year-old Male of Mist Mt rear-ended Bayerd.
The driver was cited. Both were treated on scene and released

First responders, Sheriff’s office, Animal control, Deputy Katy Paca, State Police Sergeant JD Strate, State Police Officer Andrew Lopez , County Volunteer Fire Station 6 ( Sparta 1 ) members Tom Luna and Paul Sptole, Community Health Center EMTs Dwayne Gray and Sheby Lopez along with Brandon Froll tow truck operator for Padilla Towing.
Sparta is the County Seat.
On this Friday, April 11th,2025, we see Eagle Lake State Park Rangers Joe Jr King and Kelly Diza meeting for lunch at Law and Order Cafe located at 500 Main St in Sparta, the County set of Hazard Range County.
Law and Order Cafe is owned by retired Sheriff’s Lieutenant Joe Young ( 1973 to 2001 ) and his wife, retired County Probate Judge Nancy ( 2002 to 2006 ).
King and Diza units have two different looks; the Ram is in an older look, and the Chevrolet is a newer look for New Mexico State Parks Law Enforcement Rangers

Hazzard Range County Emergency Services Administrator ( ESA ) Davis Hokrer reported to The Bulletin that there has been some damage in the county from high winds caused by a passing weather system including the Railroad crossing gate at NM 168 / Main St in Sparta
Power is knocked out west of Fort Hazzard and in the Mist Mt and Wing Mt areas, blowing dust and downed trees/limbs have also been reported.
Tri-County Electric Cooperative General Manager Alisa Sierrac reported that elaborate repairs will be needed for 5-6 hours power will be out in those areas

Fast-forward to 2025, Brad moved to Florida after an incident with one of the co-owners of S and K Trucking in 2004 led to his termination. The Trucking company is now an empty lot after a fire destroyed it shortly after the owner's bitter divorce in 2005.
Boom is in the Western Part of Apache County, NM in the Terreno llano Seco basin ( TLS basin ). Terreno llano Seco means dry flat land in Spanish. Boom has a population of about 1,798 in 2025
It is named for the oil boom that started in the area back in the 1950s

Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and County Volunteer Fire Station 4 ( Mars ) were dispatched to Old Mill RD near Swift Creek Bridge 2 little before 7:30 am on Tuesday, March 11th,2025, to respond to a vehicle vs livestock call.
Station 4 ( Mars ) Chief Steve Bacox told the Bulletin . The Horse died on the scene, and the Driver and occupants were fine. The truck had front-end damage.
Hazzard Range County Regional Dispatch Authority Director Thomas Reed told the Bulletin that this 8th call was from a rural area of the county and out of that 3 of those were from the townsites of Sparta and Eagle lake.

Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Amanda Wisey assisted Deputy Clayton Butler with recovering a Stolen Government vehicle and arresting a 17-year-old male in the Savannah Springs area. The male was transported/booked into the county detention center scene cleared.

Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Lance Mead took a report of trespassing at a home on 2nd Street in Sparta. The reporting party advised of an individual at a shed on their property and requested that the person be trespassed. The deputy responded to the residence and reported that the subject had left the area before arriving on the scene. A report was generated.
