After my first 45km cycling in France I'd failed to find several campsites and stopped to ask a local chap in his garden where the village campsite was. Having decided that it must be closed he invited me to stay in a tent that he had set up in his garden, from visiting family in the past summer. Great result - apart from the harvest mites lurking in the grass which absolutely covered my upper body in really itchy bites!
