Der Klatschmohn,auch Mohnblume oder Klatschrose genannt,ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Gattung Mohn innerhalb der Familie der Mohngewächse.Eigentlich ist die Hauptblütezeit des Klatschmohns bereits im Frühjahr,nämlich im Mai und Juni.Dennoch gilt er als einer der Sommerbegleiter schlechthin.Sobald der Klatschmohn blüht,hat endgültig die helle und warme Zeit des Jahres begonnen.
