HARRISON TULIP FESTIVAL (2025) Rustic Barn Windows

Agassiz, BC Canada

Established in 2006, the Harrison Tulip Festival pioneered a unique experience in the Fraser Valley by inviting the public to explore its blossoming fields on Seabird Island, just east of Agassiz. After relocating to Chilliwack in 2017 and operating under the name Chilliwack Tulip Festivaltm until the Spring of 2023, the festival has now found its permanent home on a 109-acre farm back in Agassiz. Nestled amidst the same breathtaking mountain vistas it enjoyed in its inaugural decade, the festival invites visitors to meander through designated pathways adorned with 12 million tulips, complemented by the delightful fragrances of hyacinths and double daffodils.

Excitingly, for the 2025 Season, we have expanded our “Secret Garden” to over 4 acres— showcasing an impressive variety of tulips, mini grapes, and fritillaria. These vibrant blooms are thoughtfully interspersed among mature fruit and spring flowering trees and shrubs, enhancing the overall sensory experience. The organizers eagerly anticipate sharing their stunning field of flowers with visitors, creating a memorable and picturesque journey.

Black and white barnyard by snlfbmdl39

Black and white barnyard

The image is a black and white photograph of a weathered, old barn situated in a rural landscape. The barn is the central focus, standing prominently in the middle ground. It has a tall, gabled roof that appears worn and aged, with visible signs of weathering and possibly some missing sections. The wooden siding of the barn is vertical and shows the texture and age of the wood. There are a few small structures or additions attached to the main barn.
In the foreground, there is a field of what appears to be dry, dormant grass or vegetation. A rustic wooden fence, constructed with crossed rails, runs across part of the foreground, adding a sense of enclosure to the scene.
Behind the barn, a line of bare trees stretches across the horizon, suggesting it might be late fall or winter. The sky occupies a significant portion of the image, filled with dramatic, textured clouds that vary in shade from light gray to dark, almost black. The interplay of light and shadow in the clouds adds depth and mood to the photograph.
The overall tone of the image is somewhat somber and evocative, emphasizing the rustic beauty and the passage of time in a rural setting. The black and white rendering enhances the contrast and highlights the textures of the barn, the field, and the sky.

Waiting to be Renewed

This small farm has been for sale. The house and barn look to be very old. I'm sure someone will want to fix this barn up a bit, even if it isn't used for farming.
