Happy Halloween

'Hello there, lovely people.
We hope you started this Halloween weekend well and survived the first night ;-))
Enjoy it to the fullest, because time flies.
I'm still trying to stop time, even if it is just for a moment, but I haven't mastered that magic formula yet, I'll have to practice for a long time before I succeed.
So meanwhile, Happy Halloween!!', says the little Witch.

'Meow', says her black cat.

'Have lots of fun', says Jack-o'-lantern with his super smile.

These origami models are not difficult and can easily be folded with kids.

The Lucky Kitten (Pham Hoang Tuan)

Wishing you all a very happy week ahead!
I wasn't active on Flickr for a while, but I didn't stop folding ;-)

In the foreword to this lovely origami model, the designer writes:
""In the culture of Asian countries and Egypt, the cat is a sacred animal. Cats have spirits and many mysterious spiritual stories. Cats in Vietnamese culture have more and more legends. They can makes corpses jump up and move. They can mate with snakes and create lynx, or legends of a ghost cat, that can transform into an old woman to kidnap children.
The Lucky Cat is a completely different story. In Vietnam, you can find a fat cat sitting and waving at shops and restaurants. From never before, the god cat of fortune or the waving cat has become a spiritual belief of business people when they can attract customers and good luck to shop owners.
This is a simple baby cat.""

I folded it with red foil, 20x20cm. Final size: height 10cm, width 8cm. It needs some support for standing.

I really do like this wonderful origami cat, her pose, her look and of course the whole folding process ;-)) It is a rather new design, 2020. The kitten, I posted yesterday, is also from the same designer, so they are really family ;-))
I folded it with one piece of patterned gold foil, 35x35cm.

I'm not overweight. I'm undertall

This tubby origami cat reminds me of Garfield. ;-)) Some of his famous quotes are "I'm not overweight. I'm undertall." or "Feed me."

This origami cat is related to the 'Sitting Cat' and the 'Napping Cat' (see first comment box). The designer is the same.
This is the more complex one, so a bigger sheet of paper is needed. I used a 24x24cm orange tant paper.
Final size: height 6,5cm, length 8,5cm, width 4cm

Wishing you all a wonderful start of the week! ;-)

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Flat Lay Photography by De Rode Olifant

Flat Lay Photography

Playing with 3 different sizes black colored paper and origami cats of course ;-)) These are flat models, you would have to support them to pose in 3D, but taking the picture with “Bird's Eye View” makes it look like they are sitting upright again .
Funny illusionary effect.

For the "Crazy Tuesday" theme: "Flat Lay Photography". I hope it will fit the theme. If not, no problem, I had fun in making this image ;-))
Happy Crazy Tuesday.
