Sadly bright patches were at a premium this morning as Europhoenix liveried 37901 'Mirrlees Pioneer' is seen approaching Prout's Bridge, Haresfield when working 5Q75 0713 from Bicester MOD to Lydney UGL.This is the 2nd of 3 moves conveying former HEx units to Lydney (DFR) where they would be split and forwarded by road to Onllwyn. Today's unit is 360201, which was used on filming work at the DFR in December 2021. Barrier coaches are 6340/44 with 37611 'Denise' bringing up the rear. This working was booked into Haresfield Up Loop for 20 minutes, but was delayed for two hours due to a failed 197 unit at Lydney. 5th April 2024.

DB class 60 60001 leaves Haresfield loop and heads towards Prout's bridge in Haresfield, Gloucestershire with the 6B13 Robeston to Westerleigh loaded tanks

Whilst down at Prout's Bridge, Haresfield, photographing a few unusual loco hauled and diverted trains, this pair of X-Country 170's turned up !! 170620 with 170115 behind are working 5Z60 1203 from Newport to Tyseley. These are not a common sight on this stretch of line. Earlier, 170620 had worked 1V02 0537 from BNS to Cardiff, and 170115 had done 1V03 0600 from Nottingham to Cardiff. The Lydney line had been closed due to rising floodwater at Over, since their arrival at CF. 170620 had started back on 1M01 which was terminated at Lydney and returned to Cardiff. The pair were coupled up to return ECS via Bristol Parkway. 4th January 2024.

Since the demise of operational Class 60's in S. Wales, oil trains to/from Westerleigh/Robeston have been worked by pairs of Class 66's. On this paricular morning both 6B17/B41 return and 6B13/B47 return had run - which is quite unusual as its normally only the latter. So this is DB red 66150 with 66057 working 6B41 1115 from Westerleigh to Robeston empties passing Prout's Bridge, Haresfield. However, this morning the train was heading to Gloucester NY to run round and reverse, via Bristol Parkway. The normal route via Lydney was closed due to floodwater levels at Over, Gloucester and closure of the railway bridge over the River Severn. 4th January 2024.

DB red 66086 exiting Haresfield loop with the diverted 6V05 0915 from Round Oak to Margam. The train was diverted via Standish, and BPW today due to floodwater breaching the safety mark at Over Bridge on the outskirts of Gloucester. 4th January 2024.

GBRF's 47749 accelerates away from Standish Junction with 5Q86 0851 from Eastleigh to Long Marston. The consist is SWR Aventra units 701524 and 701518 which are for temporary store. 4th January 2024.

37612, with 37610 at the rear, approaching Prout's Bridge, Haresfield when working 3Z07 1037 from Bristol Kingsland Road to Derby RTC, and was running 57 minutes early due to missing out its booked stop in Charfield Loop. 4th January 2024.

Working well as it gets away from Standish Junction, Black 5 44871 is seen approaching the usual gallery at a gloomy Prout's Bridge, Haresfield with RTC's 'The Cardiff Christmas Express' - 1Z33 0705 from London Victoria to Cardiff via Kemble & Gloucester. Whilst there is a good bit of clag at this location, a chilly north west wind has blown the smoke down across the coaches and 47802, which is at the rear of the train. 21st November 2023.

During their overnight spraying duties (3S31 2201 from Swindon), 67027 developed problems, but carried on with 56113 leading 3S31 (3S32 1107 from Lansdown Loop) and continuing on to E.Usk where 56113 ran round. Now unusually double-headed, 56113 and 67027 (DIT) are seen, still spraying, at Prout's Bridge, Haresfield on the return to Swindon Transfer Sidings. 6th October 2023.

Colas Rail Freight's 56051 'Survival' and 56113 approaching Prout's Bridge, Haresfield with 6Z59 0931 from Swindon Transfer Sidings and return via Gloucester and Newport (rev). 29th September 2023.

Colas Rail Freight's 56113 now leading 6Z30 0931 from Swindon Transfer Sidings to Swindon Transfer Sidings via Newport driver training run. For some reason (N/K), the service went into Gloucester New Yard and reversed, returning about 30 minutes later. This is the return working at Prout's Bridge, Haresfield with 56051 'Survival' at the rear. 27th September 2023.

Still with the headboard on (Cross Country - High Speed Train - Farewell), Inter City Swallow liveried HST Power car 43008, with 43007 at the rear, speeds towards Prout's Bridge, Haresfield with 5Z43 ECS 0606 from Neville Hill to Laira. X-Country HST power car 43207 leading 1V48 0745 from York to Plymouth, and seen here at Prout's Bridge, Haresfield. This service was routed via Kemble and Swindon due to engineering works in the Charfield/Wickwar area. 43321 was at the rear. 28th May 2016.
