Whilst down at Prout's Bridge, Haresfield, photographing a few unusual loco hauled and diverted trains, this pair of X-Country 170's turned up !! 170620 with 170115 behind are working 5Z60 1203 from Newport to Tyseley. These are not a common sight on this stretch of line. Earlier, 170620 had worked 1V02 0537 from BNS to Cardiff, and 170115 had done 1V03 0600 from Nottingham to Cardiff. The Lydney line had been closed due to rising floodwater at Over, since their arrival at CF. 170620 had started back on 1M01 which was terminated at Lydney and returned to Cardiff. The pair were coupled up to return ECS via Bristol Parkway. 4th January 2024.
