Fleet number 1128 was seen stopped outside the former Debenhams store on Princes Street on an inbound trip from Edinburgh Airport. The vehicle is one of three in the current 13 strong Airlink fleet which received this promotional wrap in early 2024 at a time when competition was arriving on the airport route for the first time in many years. The Airlink fleet has reduced seating capacity compared to the rest of the Volvo B8L/ ADL Enviro 400XLB vehicle used on city routes. The Airlink vehicles commenced operation in August 2019. The former Debenhams store (part of which is seen in the picture ) is at the time of writing proposed to be converted to a Zedwell Hotel, while the one time John Menzies store next door (hidden by scaffolding) at numbers 107/8 is to be demolished as part of the development of a Ruby Hotel which will also incorporate nos. 104/5 and 106.

Lothian 1128 (SB19 GLV) is a Volvo B8L/Alexander Dennis Enviro400XLB new to the fleet in July 2019.

Originally in Airlink livery and then painted white. Now vinylled advertising the Airlink route and fares.

Lothian Buses operate a fleet of these Volvo B8L/Alexander Dennis Enviro400XLB's on their Airlink service linking Waverley Bridge and Edinburgh Airport.

Initially the 15 buses carried the allover blue Airlink livery but Covid-19 resulted in a PVR reduction and four were repainted into allover white. They have since gained this promotional Airlink livery as shown here on 1128 loading for Edinburgh Airport.

Lothian’s 1128 is seen at Waverley Bridge loading passengers for another of the frequent Airlink journeys to the city’s airport, 8 miles away. Behind the vehicle, the trees in East Princes Street Gardens don’t quite hide the domed Bank of Scotland (now Lloyds Banking Group) building at the top of The Mound.

Seen at the top of The Mound is two of Lothian's Airlink branded Alexander Dennis Enviro 400XLB bodied Volvo B8Ls. 1138 - SB19GNF wears the smart dark blue Airlink livery whilst behind is 1128 - SB19GLY with the Airlink "advert" livery.

Waverley Bridge was for years a terminus for airport buses and tours until 2020. Now the airport buses at least have returned from 30 June 2024 although only said to be for an as yet undetermined temporary period. Lothian’s 1128 is seen in the dark blue Airlink livery at the new stop at the north end of the bridge. The view looks south to the junction with Market Street and Cockburn Street. The rear of the City Chambers is top left while the crown of St. Giles Cathedral is visible on the skyline.
