DLE20240 SN18KPZ seen approaching Richmond Bus Station working route 33 towards Fulwell, Stanley Road.
There is usually one or just a few MMCs out on this route nowadays, this one is normally seen on route K3. Did snap an MMC working on the N33, but haven't snapped one on the day 33 until now.
This shot didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped - I wanted to get one of the bus turning left but I ended up missing about a fifth of the vehicle which wasn’t great.
I used to live not too far from the Esher terminus so I know where the K3 stops and stands before resuming its journey. That area is the furthest south-west you can go with an Oyster card. Abellio only has the route for five years before returning to RATP.
The route also involves two double runs at Kingston Vale and Claygate serving the housing areas on both fronts.
SN18KPZ (DLE30240) is on Eden Street working a stint to Esher High Street via Kingston and Hinchley Wood. Based at Fulwell (FW) Garage.
The 33 is one of the routes affected by the Hammersmith Bridge Closure...Somewhat ironically the DLEs that are not normally allowed on the route because of their weight actually carry the curtailment blind with the DE's still having to incorrectly show Hammersmith. Originally the iBus was using Castelnau (which 209/485 have blinds for!) but this was update the other day to Hammersmith Bridge which the 33s still cannot show - not sure about the others but all a bit messy! A few more DLEs have sensibly been appearing such as DLE30240 here in Eton Street, Richmond.
New contract - London United DLE30240 (SN18KPZ) on route K3 at Kingston Hospital on 06/07/2018
Seen at the end of the first week of London United's new contract on route K3 is Alexander Dennis Enviro200 MMC DLE30240 on route K3 passing Kingston Hospital heading south towards Esher via Kingston town centre and Surbiton.
The route runs from Fulwell now as opposed to Tolworth who ran it until Abellio won the route in 2013. The rationale behind this is to make it easier for the former Abellio drivers to get to work, as the route was run from the other end of Fulwell garage.
