Snow Leopards Kibber.
In January, a group of us travelled to the remote Himalayan village of Kibber (at around 4,200m). Our main aim was to see Snow Leopards in the wild. Snow Leopards are considered vulnerable and at risk of extinction. On the last day we were very privileged to see these 2 siblings. Obviously, a cropped shot taken from a distance, but a genuine sighting of these magnificent animals.

Snow Leopard

Two snow leopards live at the zoo. Obviously, they are not native to Alaska. The male arrived from Rio Grande Zoological Park in New Mexico in 2011, and the female came from Central Park Zoo in 2017.
The Alaska Zoo is not a huge zoo, but it was lovely to walk around and see the animals, many of which are native to the state. A number of the animals at the zoo have been orphaned or were found injured.
Our next port of call was Anchorage. Mom and I had been there before, so we went to places we hadn't been on our previous trip.
