The Green Team took a field trip to the University of Connecticut Cooperative Extension Center in Haddam, where Master Gardeners maintain a vegetable garden to support the Amazing Grace Food Pantry in nearby Middletown. Green Team members helped hand-pick squash beetle larvae -- a mechanical control method that eliminates the need for pesticides.
