It’s about aircrews in the U.S. Army’s 8th Air Force who flew daylight bombing missions against Nazi Germany and occupied France during the early days of American involvement in WWII. The hard-as-nails General Frank Savage played by Gregory Peck takes over the bomber unit suffering from low morale and whips them into fighting shape.
