This male definitely knew what hummingbird feeders are as he flew from this one directly to one closer to the house. I was surprised at how close he let me get.

We really miss our adopted crow family in Tacoma. There are far fewer here and I think their numbers are still on the rise after the devastating West Nile epidemic from 15 or so years ago. This crow was suspiciously low in a small bare tree in the restored oak savanna area between our block and the river. I just happened to have a couple of peanuts in my pocket and tossed them as close as I could. I was really happy the crow saw both and fluttered down to eat them. About 5 minutes later I saw it out of the corner of my eye flying across the river carrying what I thought was a rat. It was not a rat, but a very young eastern cottontail. It killed it quickly, but was being harassed by a couple of grackles so it flew back over to our side of the river and landed very near to me. Now I know why it was so low in that tree. My peanuts just an appetizer.
Captured in Kraków, right outside my apartment block, this dandelion stood tall in the warm evening light. Photographed with the Nikkor 180-600mm lens, the soft bokeh and vivid colors bring out the quiet beauty of this common flower. Nature often surprises us with its elegance, even in the most urban of places.
I now have the pleasure of accomadating a beautiful pair of breeding great tits in one of my nest boxes.
I have occasionally had a few blue tits nesting in my nest boxes over the years, but this is the first time it's been great tits, .... and this is certainly great!
"Great Tit"
I'm a great tit you know, I waggles my tail to-and-fro,
We have little chirping nestlings.
They're really are our best things,
They are big now ate all their grubs, Oh yes they are the ones that we love ❤️
Now, they have learned how to fly, it's ta-ta God speed bye-bye.
