A shot from a trip last year to bring some friends in the mood. Because this week I start my last trip with some friends, we hope to see lots of birds and other wildlife. I will post some images the next few weeks.
Early morning at the start with the trip over thr Río Frío (Los Chiles). One of our first sights was this hummingbird nest in front of the harbor. I was exited with the hummer at his nest, shots like this one are very specil in my opinion. Have a grreat week with many images.

One of my favorite motmot's, an easy bird to call for. They like to come to the sound you make and you need to be prepared for taking pictures, most of the times in the shade. Have a great day my friends!

For years I tried to get good flight shots, but mostly the trash was my best friend. But one learns by doing and lately I am satisfied with the pictures I have achieved. I am happy with this picture because in my opinion everything is right here. Have a nice weekend with lots of photo fun!

The only place I know of in Costa Rica where you can almost always see this bird is the Bogarin trail in La Fortuna de San Carlos. I visited the place many times, because my friend Geovany Bogarin is the founder of this remarcable place. Iremember he planted many trees about 20 years ago and now it is his paradise.

This snail kite was resting on a branch in the wetlands of Medio Queso. He took off and after a while returned and catched a snail. It was very interesting because it was not to far away. Have a great weekend my dear friends and followers.

In my archive I have many pictures of this bird, but none of them with his wings spread. Of course a shot like this one needs to be in my gallery. There still is a discussion about his name, others call them gray-necked woodrail.

During a hike with a guide from La Selva I saw this hawk far away. To my surprise the guide said it was the orneate eagle, I couldn't see it with the naked eye. The eagle had not been seen there for a year, so luck was on our side. Nice weekend.

A bird from the highlands in Costa Rica, for many people only a dream but at certain places you can see and photograph it without many problems. You must be early for sure to get best chances. The colors can always be different due to light conditions.

A second series of photos from our trip. We visited the following areas: cloud forest, paramo, wet tropical rainforest and the wetlands around Los Chiles. It resulted in many and beautiful images in my opinion, it was very worthwhile and worth repeating.
