Directed by Toby Robertson who was christened Sholto, but became known as 'Toby' (he claimed, as a result of reciting "To be, or not to be" from an early age). Robertson died 4 July 2013, aged 83.

Julian Wyatt Glover CBE (Claudius) is an English classical actor with many stage, television and film roles since commencing his career in the 1950s. He attended Bristol Grammar School, where he was in the same class as future actors Timothy West and David Prowse (d. 28 November 2020). He is a recipient of the Laurence Olivier Award and has performed many times for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Julian Glover has also appeared frequently on television including guest appearances in series such as The Avengers, The Saint, Thriller, Doctor Who, Blake's 7 and Remington Steele. He played the recurring supporting role of Grand Maester Pycelle in HBO's Game of Thrones (2011-2016) and appeared as General Beauvilliers in the BBC drama Spies of Warsaw (2013). He is married to Isla Blair.

Brenda Bruce OBE (Gertrude) (7 July 1919-19 February 1996) was an English actress. She had a long and successful career in the theatre, radio, film and television, and was a long-time actress with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Sir Derek George Jacobi CBE (Hamlet) is an English actor and stage director. Jacobi has enjoyed a successful stage career, appearing in such stage productions as Hamlet, Uncle Vanya, and Oedipus the King. He has twice been awarded a Laurence Olivier Award, first for his performance of the eponymous hero in Cyrano de Bergerac in 1983 and the second for his Malvolio in Twelfth Night in 2009. He also received a Tony Award for his performance in Much Ado About Nothing in 1984 and a Primetime Emmy Award in 1988 for The Tenth Man. His stage work includes playing Octavius Caesar, Edward II, Richard III and Thomas Becket. In addition to being a founder member of the Royal National Theatre and winning several prestigious theatre awards, Jacobi has also enjoyed a successful television career, starring in the critically praised adaptation of Robert Graves's I, Claudius (1976), for which he won a BAFTA; in the titular role in the medieval drama series Cadfael (1994-1998), as Stanley Baldwin in The Gathering Storm (2002), as Stuart Bixby in the ITV comedy Vicious (2013-2016) and as Alan Buttershaw in Last Tango in Halifax (2012). Jacobi also portrayed a version of the Master in Doctor Who. He later reprised the role for several Doctor Who audio dramas for Big Finish Productions. In 2019, he played Edward VIII, the Duke of Windsor, in the third season of the Netflix series The Crown. He was knighted in 1994 and has also been made a member of the Danish Order of the Dannebrog.

Jane Wymark is an English actress. She is best known for playing Morwenna Chynoweth Whitworth (Morwenna Carne by the close of the series) in the 1977 BBC television period drama Poldark, and more recently as Joyce Barnaby (1997-2011) in the ITV detective series Midsomer Murders. She has appeared in television dramas such as The Bass Player and the Blonde, A Touch of Frost, Dangerfield, Lovejoy and Pie in the Sky. She also appeared as Jill Mason in the Birmingham Rep production of Equus.

Born in 1990, Bernard Brown was an 11-year-old Washington (DC) student at the Leckie Elementary School.

Bernard was on American Airlines Flight 77 that Tuesday because he had been selected to participate in a special National Geographic-sponsored trip to California.

One of his teachers described Bernard as "the joy of the class".
