Unique Styles was originally Armed Forces Special Order Service, which opened on April 2nd, 1953. It became Findley's Jewelers in 1960, Bruni's Hair Fashions in June 1980, The Dream Knock in the mid 1980s and Gwen's Unlimited in February 1992.
High Maintenance opened in the mid 2000s; it was originally Better Living, which opened on April 2nd, 1953. It became Circle Pharmacy in 1964, which was originally located here and closed in December 1982, Hapkido Karate in 1983, Butterfly Martial Arts Supply in the mid 1980s, Frank Hargrove Karate Studio in 1987 and Hawaiian Dreams Tanning Salon in 1995, which closed in 2001 (because it apparently was nothing more than a drug laundering front!).
The meat shop "opened" in October 2009 and operated through winter 2010, though it was apparently such a sketchy operation (imagine pesky door-to-door meat salesmen in a storefront) I hesitate to call it a legitimate business! This space was originally Langley Men's Shop, which opened on April 2nd, 1953 and closed in 1968. It became Loom Carpet in September 1969, House of Beef in spring 1970, Golden Steer in 1972, Hampton Meat Supply in 1974, The Butcher Shoppe in 1980, which closed in the early 2000s and Movie Play Home Gaming Supplies in the mid 2000s, which was raided in April 2009 for being an illegal gambling joint. Sheesh, between that and all the meat shops there sure has been some sketchy things taking place in this tenant!
