I know beyond a doubt, ow!
My heart will lead me there soon
We'll meet (I know we'll meet) beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
And never again I'll go sailing...

The original fishing boats of the San Francisco fleet were called Feluccas…small, open, sail powered craft that the fishermen would use to catch shrimp, sardine and Dungeness crab…with the arrival of engine power in the 20’s, a vast new fleet of Monterey Hull fishing boats became the back bone of the fleet…powered mostly by a single piston motor, the boats would make the sound, “ja-pop…ja-pop…ja-pop” as it glided through the waters of the bay…at it’s peak, around 500 of the craft were part of the fleet…but with more room needed for bigger hauls, the Monterey Clipper was soon to become a collector's item…In my times working at local boat yards, I enjoyed working on the old classics…Today their numbers have dwindled drastically with many becoming flower pots and serving as fodder for tourists cameras…
