Qube’s QBX005 & QBX001 lead the second revenue intermodal service from Cooks River, Sydney to the Tamworth Intermodal Freight Facility, Westdale. Seen approaching the small township on Currabubula, between Werris Creek and Tamworth.
Qube and the NSW Government funded the purpose built facility, as part of the Restart NSW Fund, which gave producers the choice between trucking products to Port Botany, or having a direct rail freight service.
The facility utilises the old Barraba branch line from West Tamworth Junction. 5kms of existing line was rebuilt, to allow access to the Tamworth Global Gateway Park, where the intermodal facility is located. 27/11/23
