I did not know it at the time this photo was taken but it turns out the guy who owned this property had a meth lab and chop shop operation here. The area had been cleared out with the exception of a few cars and other junk left to rust away. I assumed whoever owned the property was prepping it for development. I came across a post on NWhikers.net that explained the details about the toxic cleanup of this place. Even more bizarre, my friends and I actually met this guy on the bridge on the Middle Fork Snoqualmie river road one day as we drove up the road to go for a hike.

Lunch today at the new Irving burger joint called Chop Shop. Weirdly, they opened it just down the street from a long-standing Irving restaurant called the Original Chop Shop that's a health-conscious sandwich and salad place. Apparently the new guys didn't do much research before picking their name, so it's a bit confusing.
They're going for the sports bar look with lots of TVs showing random sports but they had the audio turned off so it was strangely quiet. It wasn't busy today so its existence may not be well known yet. We had cheeseburgers and tried the fries and onion rings. Burgers were ok but probably not worth another visit. The fries and rings were good. I might visit again just for the onion rings.
