An erythristic (pink) Meadow grasshopper (Chorthippus parallelus)
This is actually a common meadow grasshopper, however its standard green colouration has been affected by a phenomenon called erythrism, a mutation which causes this beautiful pink variation.
The mutatation is fairly rare already, affecting about 1% of the grasshopper population, however this is further compounded by the fact that many don't make it adulthood, due to their more conspicuous appearance to predators.
So finding one in the wild is a pretty lucky experience, hence why it's taken me 'til now to get one, but it was bound to happen one day I guess 😅.
