The Chaika was a mid-size sedan used mostly by party officials and ambassadors. However also citizens could purchase a Chaika.
But note the resemblance with a mid 1950s Packard. It is most likely based on the 1955-1956 Packard Patrician. However the rear fins plus lamp units are taken from the 1957 Pontiac sedan.
The Chaika M13 was designed by Lev Eremeev and was positioned under the Zis/Zil limousine.
From 1977, the successor GAZ-14 was also built, parallel to the GAZ-13, until the construction of the dated GAZ-13 Chaika was finally ended in 1981.

Note that this is the same car as on the previous photo. Only the V-shaped ornament in the grille is missing.

Egy régi Csajka (GAZ-13) sínautó a Vasúttörténeti Parkban Budapesten. A luxusautó valaha Lázár elvtársé volt (más források szerint Fock Jenő miniszteré), azután került a MÁV-hoz és alakították át vágánygépkocsivá.

An old rail-car in the Railway History Park in Budapest, Hungary. This luxury car belonged to the president of the minister counsil (other sources say a minister) during the Communist era, then later was given to the state railways and was converted to a railway car.
