First desert Milkweed! Not sure when these bloom. I saw a few of these and some had unopened seed pods still on them. Near Topock, AZ.
Unidentified Striped Sweat Bee (Agapostemon). I dont't know if this one and 3564 are male -female of the same species or two different species. If the same species, this one would be the male with a striped abdomen. Paul's house, Ajo, Arizona, USA. 20 October 2023

This may sound goofy, but when you're used to the sparseness of the Mojave in the latter months of the year, coming across something this fleshy and green is mildly alarming - and awesome, of course. =)
Rush Milkweed, Desert Milkweed, Ajamete, Asclepias subulata. Native to the desert southwest of the United States and of Northwest Mexico. Was researched as a source for rubber at one time.
