A photo from an exhausting ski vacation to Femundsenden Norway in january 1985. It was extremely cold there (- 20 until - 39 degrees Celsius) ! To drive our Opel Kadett D (1981) through winter hell we used an electric engine warmer (cable connection) and a special mixture of diesel and paraffin. We drove with studded tires. We did not repeat a ski vacation to Norway in january !
During a 3 week trek through a norwegian national park, we one day woke up to fog and crystal clear skies. By the smell we it was not hard to figure out what was going on. This is the outskirts of the fire. We could se it raging from a nearby mountain for the next three days.
There was no chance of lightning the night before, so this is probably human error. Watch your camp fires people, The trees are our friends :)
