LE CASCATELLE GEMELLE DEL MUSESTRE


A Roncade,nel centro storico, c'è questa casa che fa da ponte al corso del fiume Musestre e crea un originale scenario architettonico.
Roncade è famosa anche per il suo Castello che rappresenta una delle più spettacolari testimonianze della cultura rurale veneziana. Questa struttura, infatti, è un meraviglioso complesso rinascimentale, nonché l’unica villa veneta pre-palladiana cinta da mura.

THE TWIN WATERFALLS OF THE MUSESTRE


In Roncade, in the historic center, there is this house that acts as a bridge over the course of the Musestre river and creates an original architectural setting.
Roncade is also famous for its Castle which represents one of the most spectacular testimonies of Venetian rural culture. This structure, in fact, is a wonderful Renaissance complex, as well as the only pre-Palladian Venetian villa surrounded by walls.

1992. AYRTON SENNA NEL CIRCUITO DI MONZA.


Ieri, Primo maggio 2024, s'è celebrato il 30° anniversario della morte di Ayrton Senna, tre volte vincitore del campionato di Formula 1
Nel 1992 ho avuto l'onore ed il piacere di essere stato invitato da Canon Italia alle prove di qualifica della gara di Monza, mettendomi a disposizione reflex ed obiettivi professionali a mia scelta.
Ora non ricordo con che ottica e reflex ho fotografato ma ricordo che il "cannone" era grosso, pesante e bianco....forse un tele 500 mm molto luminoso.
Sono stato scorazzato per buona parte del circuito in compagnia di mio figlio Massimo, allora tredicenne, scegliendo punti di ripresa più congeniali....purtroppo ho smarrito buona parte di quel materiale ma qualcosa ho salvato....questa è la mia migliore immagine di Ayrton Senna alla guida della Mc Laren-Honda con il n. 1 di Campione del Mondo.

Yesterday, May 1st 2024, the 30th anniversary of the death of Ayrton Senna, three-time winner of the Formula 1 championship, was celebrated
In 1992 I had the honor and pleasure of being invited by Canon Italia to the qualifying tests for the Monza race, providing me with reflex cameras and professional lenses of my choice.
Now I don't remember which lens and reflex I photographed with but I remember that the "gun" was big, heavy and white...perhaps a very bright 500mm telephoto.
I wandered around for a good part of the circuit in the company of my son Massimo, then thirteen years old, choosing more congenial shooting points...unfortunately I lost a good part of that material but I saved something...this is my best image of Ayrton Senna driving Mc Laren-Honda with the no. 1 World Champion.

Da quest’anno, chi vorrà visitare Venezia dovrà pagare un biglietto di ingresso da 5 euro. L’iniziativa del comune lagunare era nell’aria da tempo e, dopo molte polemiche, è entrata in vigore in una forma limitata a 29 giornate l’anno, quelle di maggior affluenza che coincidono con festività e ponti. L’obiettivo è quello di usare un deterrente economico per scoraggiare i turisti giornalieri ad affollare la città con gite che si concludono in giornata.
Il debutto del nuovo sistema di ingresso a Venezia è iniziato con giovedì 25 aprile 2024.

THE VAPORETTO N. 57


From this year, anyone who wants to visit Venice will have to pay a 5 euro entrance ticket. The initiative of the lagoon municipality had been in the air for some time and, after much controversy, it came into force in a form limited to 29 days a year, the busiest days which coincide with holidays and long weekends. The goal is to use an economic deterrent to discourage day tourists from crowding the city on trips that end in the same day.
The debut of the new entry system in Venice began on Thursday 25 April 2024.

BUONO SOLO PER GLI UCCELLI


E' un arbusto con fusto legnoso, foglie appuntite e piccole spine, di colore verde scuro. Fiorisce in marzo-aprile. produce piccoli fiori di colore giallo oro. In primavera inoltrata produce piccole bacche scure.

La pianta, spontanea in Italia, è nota con moltissimi nomi popolari: pruno selvatico, susino di macchia, sgancio, strozzapreti, susino selvatico e altro ancora.
Il prugnolo era da sempre utilizzato nelle campagne non solo per dividere gli appezzamenti attirando le api, ma anche per altri scopi. La corteccia era utilizzata per tingere di rosso e marrone la lana. Il legno di tronco e rami, duro e resistente, è un ottimo combustibile e veniva impiegato anche per costruire cassette e mobili, per attrezzi agricoli e bastoni da passeggio.

Tieni presente che le bacche del prugnolo sono molto piccole e questa mia foto macro rispetta le dimensioni richieste da "Macro Mondays"

GOOD FOR BIRDS ONLY

It is a shrub with a woody stem, pointed leaves and small thorns, dark green in colour. It flowers in March-April. produces small golden yellow flowers. In late spring it produces small dark berries.


The plant, spontaneous in Italy, is known by many popular names: wild plum, scrub plum, sgancio, strozzapreti, wild plum and more.
The blackthorn has always been used in the countryside not only to divide plots to attract bees, but also for other purposes. The bark was used to dye wool red and brown. The wood of the trunk and branches, hard and resistant, is an excellent fuel and was also used to build boxes and furniture, for agricultural tools and walking sticks.

Keep in mind that blackthorn berries are very small and this macro photo of mine respects the dimensions required by "Macro Mondays"

ADRENALINA ALLO STATO PURO


“Lo speedway è una specialità particolare. Le moto non hanno freni, il motore è un 500 cc quattro tempi. Sviluppa una settantina di cavalli ed è alimentato a metanolo. Si corre su piste in terra battuta, ovali, di circa 400 metri in lunghezza. Solitamente si passa al formato di gara, un classico di venti manche di quattro giri ciascuna. Il pilota si fonde con la moto. La manche dura circa un minuto nel quale il pilota e la moto danno tutto. È stupendo, indescrivibile: si dovrebbe provare”.

A PELO D' ACQUA


La località, conosciuta in tutto il mondo per il suo microclima, è la frazione più alta del comune di Auronzo di Cadore e sul suo lago si specchiano le splendide Dolomiti Patrimonio Unesco, tra cui il versante sud-ovest delle Tre Cime di Lavaredo, il Sorapiss, i Cadini e il Cristallo. In estate è base per trekking, mountain bike, bagni di sole e pesca sportiva d'estate, mentre d'inverno, grazie alla sua altitudine che permette un innevamento naturale per quasi sei mesi, si possono praticare numerosi sporti invernali.

IL FIUME LIVENZA ALLA SANTISSIMA


Risorgive del Livenza in località Santissima a Polcenigo, tra natura e preistoria.
Uno straordinario spettacolo della natura e reperti palafitticoli preistorici.
Quello che vediamo è un fiume già bello e formato, eppure siamo ad appena poche decine di metri dalla sorgente.
L'acqua è di una bellezza incomparabile.
Il sito del Palù di Livenza è collocato in una vasta zona di risorgiva del fiume Livenza tra le alture di Sarone e la dorsale del Longone.
Gli elementi in selce raccolti fin dall'800, le esplorazioni subacquee e le indagini archeologiche degli ultimi vent'anni hanno permesso di ritenere il Palù una delle più interessanti stazioni preistoriche dell'Italia settentrionale.
Grazie all'eccezionalità della datazione storica dei ritrovamenti e all'importanza che l'area archeologica ricopre in Italia, nel giugno 2011 il Palù è stato iscritto nella lista del Patrimonio Mondiale dell’UNESCO.

An extraordinary spectacle of nature and prehistoric pile-dwelling finds.
What we see is an already beautiful and formed river, yet we are just a few tens of meters from the source.
The water is of incomparable beauty.
The Palù di Livenza site is located in a vast resurgence area of the Livenza river between the Sarone heights and the Longone ridge.
The flint elements collected since the 19th century, the underwater explorations and archaeological investigations of the last twenty years have made it possible to consider Palù one of the most interesting prehistoric stations in northern Italy.
Thanks to the exceptional nature of the historical dating of the findings and the importance that the archaeological area has in Italy, in June 2011 the Palù was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

L'OCEANO A PORTATA DI MANO...

L’Oceanografico, il cui disegno sembra ispirato alle onde del mare, è stato costruito da Félix Candela e, oltre ad essere l’acquario di Valencia, è riconosciuto come il più grande acquario d’Europa.
Questo vasto ambiente, all’interno della Città delle Arti e delle Scienze, è infatti, a sua volta, scomposto in differenti strutture in cui vengono riprodotti i principali ecosistemi marini. Spostandosi quindi di alcuni metri si potrà passare dal Mediterraneo al Mar Rosso, immergersi nell’Artico e nell’Antartico per poi finire nelle zone umide e tropicali. La Magnolia Soulangeana è un albero sorprendente che fiorisce precocemente a coppa in brillanti toni rosa.

UN NIDO DI BONTA'


Le tagliatelle ali' uovo sono
famosissime in tutto il mondo e “alla bolognese” è la versione preferita : si tratta di
pasta fresca, ( sempre emblema della cucina bolognese), tagliata a strisce per creare “la tagliatella” e sono condite con il famoso “ragù”, ovvero un macinato di carne bovina , sedano, carote, cipolla, salsa di pomodoro, pepe e sale. Guai a chi si azzarda a parlare o solo nominare gli “spaghetti alla bolognese”, non esistono o meglio non sono conditi con il ragù, ma bensì con il tonno.

LA SCORTA PER L'INVERNO.


In tutte le Alpi il legno non manca, ma la tradizione del legno è una “cultura” artigiana che si tramanda solo in pochi luoghi ancora, e tra questi c’è Sauris.
Le ragioni sono ovviamente “naturali”: viene prodotto dalla natura senza che l’uomo l’alimenti, ha forme uniche, profumi che lo distinguono, si offre in variegate forme e tipi, utili per supportare ogni attività umana: attrezzi da cucina, di lavoro, in campagna, per l’arredamento, per le costruzioni, per il piacere di creare forme belle da vedere.
Soprattutto il legno trasmette sensazioni uniche: dona senso di calore, avvicina l’essere umano alla natura, si presta per esser modellato e lavorato.

Throughout the Alps there is no shortage of wood, but the tradition of wood is an artisan "culture" that is handed down only in a few places, and among these there is Sauris.
The reasons are obviously "natural": it is produced by nature without man feeding it, it has unique shapes, aromas that distinguish it, it is offered in varied shapes and types, useful for supporting every human activity: kitchen tools, work, in the countryside, for furnishings, for construction, for the pleasure of creating shapes that are beautiful to look at.
Above all, wood transmits unique sensations: it gives a sense of warmth, brings human beings closer to nature, and lends itself to being shaped and worked.

NON SOLO SPIAGGIA ED OMBRELLONI


Il bragozzo è certamente la barca peschereccia adriatica simbolo di Chioggia e delle sue tradizioni.
Diffusa in seguito alle altre marinerie dell'Alto Adriatico (Caorle, Grado, Marano) man mano che veniva a ridursi la pesca interna nelle lagune in conseguenza della progressiva opera di bonifica delle valli, i giovani pescatori rivolgevano la loro attività al mare.
Il bragozzo, grazie al fondo piatto, si mostrava particolarmente idoneo alla pesca anche in fondali bassi come quelli delle coste Alto Adriatiche italiane.
Di lunghezza compresa tra i 36 e 40 piedi (metri 12,60 -14) centinaia di queste barche solcarono in lungo ed in largo l'Adriatico sino agli anni '40 quando incominciarono a venire sostituite da imbarcazioni a motore.

The bragozzo is certainly the Adriatic fishing boat symbol of Chioggia and its traditions.
Subsequently spread to the other marinas of the Upper Adriatic (Caorle, Grado, Marano) as internal fishing in the lagoons was reduced as a result of the progressive reclamation of the valleys, the young fishermen turned their activity to the sea.
The bragozzo, thanks to its flat bottom, was particularly suitable for fishing even in shallow waters such as those of the Italian Upper Adriatic coasts.
Ranging in length between 36 and 40 feet (12.60 -14 metres), hundreds of these boats plied the length and breadth of the Adriatic until the 1940s when they began to be replaced by motor boats.

Il 24 ottobre del 1965 i Beatles diventavano Baronetti dell’Ordine dell’Impero Britannico
I Fab Four avevano ricevuto infatti una delle più importanti onoreficenze del loro paese. Era stato l’allora primo ministro Harold Wilson a candidarli e la notizia scatenò le ire di molti.
Una vera follia per l’epoca, tanto che molti membri del “Most Excellent Order of the British Empire” (questa la dicitura originale) restituirono il titolo.

RIGOLATO. CHIESA DI SANTI FILIPPO E GIACOMO

La chiesa dei Santi Filippo e Giacomo è la parrocchiale di Rigolato, in provincia ed arcidiocesi di Udine; fa parte della forania della Montagna.
La prima citazione di una chiesa a Rigolato risale al XIV secolo. Questa chiesetta fu probabilmente restaurata nei secoli successivi. L'attuale parrocchiale venne costruita tra il 1734 ed il 1735 su progetto del tolmezzino Domenico Schiavi; la consacrazione impartita nel 1735 dal patriarca di Aquileia Daniele Dolfin. L'edificio venne rimaneggiato nel 1744.

RIGOLATO. CHURCH OF SAINTS PHILIP AND GIACOMO

The church of Saints Philip and James is the parish church of Rigolato, in the province and archdiocese of Udine; it is part of the Mountain forania.
The first mention of a church in Rigolato dates back to the 14th century. This little church was probably restored in the following centuries. The current parish church was built between 1734 and 1735 based on a design by Domenico Schiavi from Tolmezzo; the consecration imparted in 1735 by the patriarch of Aquileia Daniele Dolfin. The building was remodeled in 1744.

AMALFI VISTA DALLA SPIAGGIA


Amalfi, è il comune che dà nome all'intera costa. Uno scrigno ricco di storia tutta da scoprire passeggiando lentamente tra le stradine che partono dal mare e si inerpicano verso le colline. Poco più di tre chilometri quadrati di bellezza struggente allo sbocco della Valle dei Mulini.
Amalfi è la più antica delle Repubbliche Marinare e uno dei borghi più antichi della Campania. In pochi chilometri i luoghi da visitare sono tanti, ma basta una passeggiata nel centro storico fatto di vicoli che si immergono nell'ombra fresca dei sottoportici per cogliere l'essenza dell'architettura mediterranea. Amalfi e tutta la sua costa sono state dichiarate dall'Unesco "Patrimonio mondiale dell'Umanità"'.

AMALFI VIEW FROM THE BEACH


Amalfi is the municipality that gives its name to the entire coast. A treasure chest full of history to be discovered by walking slowly through the streets that start from the sea and climb towards the hills. Just over three square kilometers of poignant beauty at the mouth of the Valle dei Mulini.
Amalfi is the oldest of the Maritime Republics and one of the oldest villages in Campania. Within a few kilometers there are many places to visit, but a walk in the historic center made up of alleys that immerse themselves in the cool shade of the porticoes is enough to capture the essence of Mediterranean architecture. Amalfi and its entire coast have been declared a "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO.

UN' OASI DA CONSERVARE


Istituita ufficialmente nel 1996 in una zona oggetto dei primi interventi di ripristino dai primi anni ’90, la Riserva si trova nella parte orientale della regione Friuli Venezia Giulia lungo l’ultimo tratto del corso dell’Isonzo, su una superficie di 2.338 ettari, 1.154 dei quali in ambiti marini. Sito particolarmente adatto per il birdwatching (ospita oltre 300 specie di uccelli), è abitata anche da numerose altre specie: pesci, cigni, volpi, nutrie, rettili e i famosi cavalli bianchi della Camargue, introdotti nel 1991.

AN OASIS TO PRESERVE


Officially established in 1996 in an area subject to the first restoration interventions since the early 1990s, the Reserve is located in the eastern part of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region along the last stretch of the Isonzo river, on an area of 2,338 hectares, 1,154 of which in marine environments. A particularly suitable site for birdwatching (home to over 300 species of birds), it is also inhabited by numerous other species: fish, swans, foxes, otters, reptiles and the famous white Camargue horses, introduced in 1991.

CAPASANTA SU LETTO GHIACCIATO


La capasanta, conosciuta anche come cappasanta, pettine di mare o conchiglia di San Giacomo, è un mollusco bivalve.
È costituito esternamente da una conchiglia equilaterale a forma di ventaglio mentre internamente da una parte bianca, soda e tenera, al centro e da una parte arancione, decisamente più cremosa, ai margini.

LE TRE BOTTIGLIE


A est del centro di Muggia sta il colle di Muggia Vecchia. L’antico borgo medievale venne gradualmente abbandonato a favore del nuovo insediamento a mare, l’attuale Muggia, racchiuso dalle mura e dominato dal castello.

Molti di noi hanno notato un fenomeno curioso negli ultimi anni. Nelle città di tutta Italia, e anche del mondo, sono comparse innumerevoli bottiglie di plastica piene d’acqua sui marciapiedi. Di solito vengono posizionate vicino allo stipite delle porte, fuori dai garage o agli angoli delle case.
Secondo chi ha adottato questa curiosa abitudine, le bottiglie servono a tenere lontani cani e gatti, e in particolare a impedirgli di fare la pipì contro il muro. La bottiglia d’acqua dovrebbe quindi dissuadere i nostri amici pelosi dall’alzare la zampa contro lo stipite della nostra porta o l’angolo della nostra casa.
Il cane o il gatto, vedendo il proprio riflesso nella bottiglia, ne verrebbe spaventato, e quindi dovrebbe decidere di cercare un altro luogo dove fare i propri bisogni.

THE THREE BOTTLES


To the east of the center of Muggia is the hill of Muggia Vecchia. The ancient medieval village was gradually abandoned in favor of the new seaside settlement, the current Muggia, enclosed by walls and dominated by the castle.


Many of us have noticed a curious phenomenon in recent years. In cities throughout Italy, and even around the world, countless plastic bottles full of water have appeared on the sidewalks. They are usually placed near door frames, outside garages or in the corners of houses.
According to those who have adopted this curious habit, the bottles are used to keep dogs and cats away, and in particular to prevent them from peeing against the wall. The water bottle should therefore dissuade our furry friends from raising their paw against the door jamb or the corner of our house.
The dog or cat, seeing its reflection in the bottle, would be frightened, and therefore would have to decide to look for another place to do its business.
