After the westbound Sunset Limited made its station stop in Houston, the crew exited their locomotives and climbed aboard AMTK 43 (which was tied down on the depot track to the right).
AMTK 43 had been set-out 9 days earlier after experiencing electrical issues in a traction motor. After a contract crew came out and replaced the traction motor, the next Sunset Limited through town stopped and picked-up the now-repaired locomotive.
Here, the train crew backs AMTK 43 onto the Sunset Limited at the Houston Amtrak Station. They'll MU their new locomotive and configure it as their new leader, then wrap-up their station stop for an on-time departure at 6:55 pm.
