A leopard stealthily moves through the tall grasses, likely hunting for prey in its natural habitat.

Despite their attractiveness they can be extremely risky and it’s crucial to comprehend the reasons behind this. The jaguar, mountain lion, bobcat and ocelot are all dangerous cats in America. Mountain lions also known as cougars or mountain goats are highly defensive animals that can hunt prey like turkey and other game birds.

Le margay, dit aussi chat-tigre, chat sauvage de la Nouvelle Espagne (Leopardus wiedii, anciennement Felis wiedii), est un petit félin rencontré dans les forêts tropicales et les milieux broussailleux d'Amérique centrale et du Sud.
L'une de ses caractéristiques physiques particulières réside dans son extrême souplesse, liée intrinsèquement à son comportement arboricole. Par exemple, ses pattes postérieures peuvent pivoter jusqu'à près de 180° lui permettant de descendre d'un arbre ou d'une branche la tête la première.

Leopardus pardalis - Ocelot

L'ocelot chasse au sol même s'il vit généralement dans les arbres la journée. Il chasse normalement pendant la nuit mais la chasse peut se poursuivre le matin surtout s'il pleut ou s'il y a des nuages.
