50th Anniversary Limited Edition
This is Number 67 of the second-generation P38A Range Rover 50th Anniversary ‘Vogue 50’ Limited Edition models. They were based on the Autobiography programme and were the most expensive Range Rover up to that point, at £71,000.
This car is one of the 30 CARIN types built with the CARIN satellite navigation system, TV and VCR player and screens in the headrests.
The paint was Atlantis Blue and extended to the bumpers, sills and mirrors. The seat trim had blue piping and the interior featured a lot of wood and blue trimmings. The original plan to build 50 vehicles was extended to 100 due to demand.
The 50th Anniversary Limited Edition is a rare collector’s edition of the P38A which was for many years the ‘unloved Range Rover’ which, over the past few years, is gradually being appreciated for its qualities and the fact that is the last vehicle developed and built by Land Rover before its acquisition by BMW, then Ford and latterly Tata.
