Morgan Territory Regional Preserve, East SF Bay Area, N Calif.
The Bay Area infrequently gets a "decent" snowfall that persists. Late February, 2023, a series of cold winter storms produced snow at 2,000 ft of 12" and more. One day later, there was still 3" persisting; in my 44+ year years of hiking here, this is the best snow I have enjoyed here. Midway through my hike, the clouds overran the plateau ridges and enshrouded the snowy landscape in a heavy fog. The image here is along a part backroad through the "tunnel-like" oak-woodland canopy of a couple walking the road.
