Australian National locos AN1/CLF1 and a pair of GM class locos provide the 'hook and pull' power for an SCT 3MP9S Melbourne to Perth service, seen near Port Germein, South Australia, on 30 July 1997.
Clyde Engineering built 11 4,000hp EMD-powered units for Australian National between 1993-1994. Ownership transferred to National Rail in 1997 and then Pacific National in 2002. In 2023 most of the class were placed in long term storage.
