Positioned on another job
As you can see from the Diptic photo we’ve placed the RSJ in this building. There was a wall there that we’ve removed. It’s to make the dining room and kitchen open plan.
We placed the RSJ yesterday (Saturday), on Monday I’ll be able to wall above it to support the roof timbers; then we’ll be able to remove the acro props.
This job is now taking preference, as a family member wants to move into her house.

To lower this 12ft x 8” x 5” RSJ (girder)
It had 8 thick nuts and bolts holding it in position at one end and rested on a wall at the other end. It’s no longer needed in this building, and it was in the way of where the staircase will go.
We’ve cut it down to 10ft 6’ now. It’s going to be used on another job we’re working on that has taken precedence. You’ll see this girder in position next week, when we get it in.
How amazing are block & tackle ??!

Chorlton Street again a week later, in more typical Manchester weather, and another Volvo Van Hool demonstrator !
Berry's of Taunton had acquired this B10M from Volvo when it was just 6 months old, and ran it for nearly 12 years, including a spell in National Express livery.
In 1996, it joined the Hyndburn fleet in Accrington, just in time for it to be acquired by Stagecoach a few months later, whereupon it was sent 'back home' to Scotland, with Fife and later Rennies. After being sold to a local coach firm in 2003 it lasted until 2008, a respectable 25 year life - and quite an array of number plates !
