Studio del Re / Despacho del Rey - (room created after the palace had been turned into a museum)
Room XIII
Palazzo Reale, Naples
[Museo di Palazzo Reale]
In the 1920s, furniture from Ferdinand II's office in the eastern wing was installed in this room, evicted to house the National Library.
These pieces of furniture (desk, chest of drawers, and secretaire) were made by the Parisian cabinetmaker Adam Weisweiler and the bronze-worker Pierre-Philippe Thomire between 1808 and 1811 for Napoleon's apartments in the Quirinal Palace. In 1814, after the fall of the French empire, Murat ordered them to be transferred to Capodimonte.
