The Pond was created to stop mudflows from the nearby Mt. Tokachi. Impurities in the water scatters the sunlight causing the water to look a cobalt blue to a emerald green and everything in-between depending on the time of day.

1933年に竣工した旧朝香宮邸。1983年から東京都庭園美術館。The former Prince Asaka's residence was completed as the masterpiece of Art Deco style building in 1933. It has been the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum since 1983.
