My contribution to the Swedish group Photo Sunday (Fotosöndag) on the theme symbols.
Denna port finns på ett 1800-talshus i Vasastan. Idag skulle ingen komma på tanken att dekorera en entrédörr med svastikor, men då var denna urgamla symbol ännu inte solkad av nazismens motbjudande brott mot mänskligheten.
Svastikan har en lång historia i både asiatiska och europeiska kulturer. Den förknippas då med solen, kraft och energi. På äldre kartor används den som symbol för kraftverk.
