On the 27th of March 2025, The Picnic Train transferred R766 and a lengthy consist from Goulburn to Junee in preparation for a series of weekends running shuttle trips in Albury and Wagga Wagga.
R766 is rolling through the countryside between Jerrawa and Coolalie. Ahead lies Yass Junction where the train will pause to allow a following freight train to overtake.
On the 27th of March 2025, The Picnic Train transferred R766 and a lengthy consist from Goulburn to Junee in preparation for a series of weekends running shuttle trips in Albury and Wagga Wagga.
Here we see R766 descending down from Cullerin. The train has just passed under the railfan location known as "bottom bridge" where the line goes under the former Hume Highway.
Converted guage Picnic Train Steam Locomotive R766 on run 9S94 from Moss Vale to Central after a day in the southern highlands for the Bowral Tulip Festival.
Locomotive R766 will only travel as far as Chullora. A diesel locomotive will then take the remainder of the trip to Central as Locomotive R766 is still unable to operate on the Sydney Trains Network
