I made this photo of worn stairs after Melody and I had walked underneath the Golden Gate Bridge from Vista Point from east to West as we were returning to our car. You can imagine how many people have walked up and down these stairs over the years. I captured this image in May of 2015 using my Canon Powershot SX50.

City of San Rafael, Marin County, Northern California, USA.
This elegant three-story home, a blend of Queen Anne and Eastlake styles, was built in 1888. In 1906, Captain Robert Dollar purchased the estate and later it was named Falkirk in honor of his Scottish birthplace.
This is an image of two men carrying their bicycles up the well worn stairs of the pedestrian walkway that leads under the Golden Gate Bridge to the parking areas, roads, and vistas on the east and the west. This stairway is on the west side at the north end of the bridge. There is a plant up the right side of the stairs for guiding a bike per the instructions on the sign to the right. These fellow were strong and their bikes probably light.
There is a Vista Point north of the Golden Gate Bridge that I almost always stop at when traveling that way as there is only one chance to take the exit and the view of San Francisco, Alcatraz, and the Bay is is most often a beautiful photo opportunity. Another way to get to the Vista Point on the eastern side of the north anchorage of the Golden Gate Bridge is from the parking area on the west side, down the very well worn steps in this image. There is another set on the other side after a short and noisy walk beneath the six lane bridge. Those stairs are as well worn and there is also planks on the side on which bicyclists can guide their vehicles up or down while they walk the stairs. The woman in this photo is my lovely bride Melody.
