Journey Beyond train the “ Great Southern “ arrives at Yass Junction, where the passengers will disembark for a visit to Canberra. The train will run to Goulburn where the passengers will join later in the afternoon. Pacific National supplies the motive power for the train with NR30 and NR37.

Returning a Nubba sign to its owner in Junee , NR64 diplays the sign whilst sitting on the up with NR70/ NR39 on 3BM4 Pacific National Intermodal service. BM4 was waiting for a diverted Indian Pacific to fly past on the down on its way to Adelaide via Melbourne due to track repairs from flooding in Western NSW.

On Good Friday morning 1992 3642 and 5910 pause at Yass Junction with a Rail Transport Museum tour from Sydney to Melbourne.
It's a chilly Good Friday morning in 1992 and the sun seems hesitant to rise as 3642 (with 5910 behind) pauses at Yass Junction with a Rail Transport Museum tour. After an overnight run from Sydney It is less than half way to its ultimate destination of Melbourne.
The de-commissioned signal box at Yass Junction. Although the Yass branch closed in November 1988 the signal box remained is use until 15th February 1993 controlling movements on the main southern line and the local sidings.
The main entrance to Yass Junction Railway Station. Although the Yass branch closed in 1988 the track here is still in place and used as a refuge siding and for maintenance trains. The start of the former back platform which served the branch to Yass Town is visible on the right.
The actual junction at Yass Junction where the branch to Yass Town left the back platform road and curved into the cutting to start the short trip along the branch. The Yass branch closed in 1988 but most of the track is still in place.
The up or northbound platform at Yass Junction is no longer in use or accessible. The foot bridge is out of service and blocked off. All trains that stop here now use the main platform. The second platform was added with duplication of the main southern line in 1914.
The former back platform at Yass Junction served the branch to Yass Town. Although the Yass branch closed in 1988 the track here is still in place and used as a refuge siding and for maintenance trains.
The canopy in the distance covers the main entrance to the station while the building shows many of the additions that have been made since the original building was built.
