Day 8 of 365 (Year Four)

File this one under shots that should have been in year three, but weren't cause I dropped it. I have another one coming in the days ahead (saving it for a day when I don't have any other ideas or I run out of time).

If you followed my stream and my 365's from Year Three you are aware that I was working on a Fan Film based on the Firefly / Serenity Universe created by Joss Whedon. My main roll was taking shots and organizing and collecting the shots from others, plus help with the lighting, sets and wherever else I could be of use.

I was also responsible for taking the promo shots for the film. While I wasn't super happy with the group shot I got, mainly due to lack of enough lighting, I was happy with the composite I put together for the promotional materials that were passed out at Dragon*Con 2009 announcing the film to the general public.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go to Dragon*Con last year (I'm still hopeful about this year though) and I didn't know if I'd get a copy of this item for my portfolio. Kelly, the director / producer's wife (and costume designer for the film) was nice enough to make sure I got one. I didn't get it until around New Years, but hey, I'm OK with that. I didn't expect them to have any left after Dragon*Con so I was happy just happy to get one. I would have rather collected it at the Con, but sometimes you gotta take what you can get.

I'll eventually get some of the individual shots I took up. I've been waiting for the go ahead from the director before moving on that.

365, Day 8. The welcome end to a very bad week. Work, work, work....
Still, it's now a beautiful day, hope is in the air. Until Monday, perhaps.

Day 8 of 365 (Year Three)

Completely not what I started out to do this evening. What I wanted to do just wasn't coming together so I started going through the other shots I took tonight. This was my favorite from the set of "extras" that I took. I started playing with it and some textures and eventually ended up with this.

I'm still going to work on the other image that I was working on tonight, but I reached a point where it just wasn't heading in the direction I wanted and I was just spinning my wheels. I can see it in my head, I just need to figure out how to get it to look right.

Still, all in all, I'm rather happy with the results of tonight's shot, even if it wasn't what I set out to do.

One of the things I'm loving about 365 is that it's helping me remember to make time for Bella. Since Jaylen was born I don't feel she's gotten as much of our time as she use to and so I have had fun taking her out in the morning or evening to have a little fun with her. I must admit she's one of the toughest to capture though. She gets so excited and at times is so clumsy that I have to wait for her to calm down.

Yes, this is the photo I nearly burned my eyes out and rolled around in the grass, which I'm allergic to (regardless of how itchy it made me...it was so worth it for some of these shots). I was laying on the ground and he came to climb on me.

The goal was to capture some of his curls. It was the late part of the day - so we had fun and I had a tough time choosing which one to use (which is becoming a problem...hehehe). I went with this one because it showed his personality that I'm use to seeing lately.

dont know what is going on with my elbow but after much deliberation over numerous anatomy books and self diagnosis web sites, i have finally reached a very reasonable diagnosis of bloody sore elbow!! ouch!!

I spent a little time with Talia this morning - and told her she had to be a part of 365 with me today. She agreed.
