Prospero autumnale. Growing in the sand dunes at Penmarch, Brittany. Rare in Britain, Cornwall, South coast of England only.

Thymus polytrichus. Teim Gwyllt. Yn tyfu yn y twyni tywod Porth Lliw. Y planhigyn yma gyda petalau a smotiau porffor, fel arfer maent yn un lliw pinc.
Thymus polytrichus. Wild Thyme. The flowers are usually just pink, but this one had purple spots. Other plants nerby were the usual uniform pink colour. Growing in the sand dunes at Freshwater East, Pembrokeshire.

Echium vulgare. Viper's-bugloss. Sand dunes, Freshwater East. Someone thought the spots on the stem resemble the markings on the Viper or Adder, a snake. The Welsh name: Glas y Graean, means 'blue of gravel'.
