Look down low and see: a 1991 of postmodernly self-mocking pompousness: "MCMXCI," written the fancy way. by Tim Kiser

Look down low and see: a 1991 of postmodernly self-mocking pompousness: "MCMXCI," written the fancy way.

I know the MCMXCI datestone at the bottom is hard to see because it is small, but I wanted you to be able to see it in the context of the building's postmodern architectural style. And the surveillance camera.

Take away this distasteful "Hearn Owned and Managed" plaque so I can think about the 1981 by itself. by Tim Kiser

Take away this distasteful "Hearn Owned and Managed" plaque so I can think about the 1981 by itself.

This building is 767 feet high (234 m), wow. But the Hearn plaque is trashy and gauche; it has ruined the entire building and the entire year of 1981.

1925 of aggressively intermingled Roman numerals.

Ah yes MCMXXV, very fancy, the 23-story clubhouse of the Union League Club of Chicago.

I still remember Charles Dawes in there, swanning around in his undershirt, that crooked banker. He was Coolidge's vice president.

ALL MY MEMORIES OF 1909 are TRAPPED IN GRANITE at this cornerstone at Chicago City Hall. by Tim Kiser

ALL MY MEMORIES OF 1909 are TRAPPED IN GRANITE at this cornerstone at Chicago City Hall.

On this day the gray granite was bathed in orange-colored sunlight, caused by wildfire smoke from Canada. I see where Chicago people like to spit their chewing gum directly onto the sidewalk.
