Perched on the windswept cliffs of Washington's southern coast, Cape Disappointment Light stands as a stubborn sentinel against the wild moods of the Pacific Ocean. Built in 1856, it’s the oldest functioning lighthouse in the Pacific Northwest. Cape Disappointment lives up to its dramatic name with unpredictable weather, crashing waves, and dense fog that earned it the nickname “Graveyard of the Pacific.”
