Observing Tsuchinshan comet the 20/10/2024.
From the Astronomical Center of Lladurs Castle it was visible with the naked eye, with binoculars and with a telescope. Finally, this comet did not disappoint with a prominent nucleus but a very long tail. With the naked eye it was visible as a white line inclined in the sky and with binoculars it was spectacular!

Comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) 29/01/2025 10:01 PM AEST as seen from Central Victoria.
I didn't hold much hope of photographing the comet since the day was unfolding much like the previous three days, when the sky had been gloomy and heavily laden with both smoke from bushfires and dust whipped up by strong westerly winds. It was disheartening because, unlike my last attempt to shoot the comet, I had meticulously planned my next session, but I was having no luck with the conditions. A few days prior, I had pondered over what types of foreground elements I could readily incorporate into the shot. Living in a rural location, I thought perhaps some agricultural machinery or a wind pump might add a familiar element to the shot, giving a sense of depth and scale to the image. Agricultural machinery was quickly dismissed since it's likely to be parked in a shed this time of year, but I knew of two properties nearby that had windpumps visible from the road. I contacted the owners of one property and asked for permission to enter their farm and photograph the comet. After a brief chat, I was delighted to get their approval. Buoyed by the knowledge that I had a location, a plan, and that my gear was ready, I was eager to go—I just needed a clear sky at the right time! A few times in the late afternoon, the clouds dissipated somewhat only to regather soon after. This torment went on until around 8.30pm, when the clouds retreated beyond the horizon. With renewed optimism, I loaded my equipment into the car and set off on a road trip to the location. Once at the farm, clouds could be seen advancing slowly from the west, but fortunately they didn't interfere with the view of the comet and, in my view, added another pleasing element to the photograph.
Me da mucho placer registrar eventos astronómicos.
