Up until the mid 2000s (2003?) you used to have to pay for the grounds (Nature Trails, Zoo) at where the current car park barriers are now and then once in the park you had to get a wristband or tickets for the rides

In the 1990s and Early 2000s, Drayton Manor used to officially open their rides by some of the post popular Bands/Groups/Presenters of the day.

The Drayton Manor Curse was a tongue in cheek approach because soon after the groups/bands split up or the presenters work dried up.
