Per an inscription around the corner from this one, here was the Deutsche Evangelical Lutheran Friedens Kirche.

Friedens Kirche equals "Peace Church."

Was Arthur Pillsbury a Friedens Kirche worshiper? Or was he just there to get paid as an archt.

Peace churches soon became unfashionable in the U.S., and have never since been fashionable.

In downtown Bloomington, Illinois, on August 10th, 2024, was a datestone at the Christian Faith Center, originally the Deutsche Evangelical Lutheran Friedens Kirche or German Evangelical Lutheran Church, later known as St Luke's Evangelical and Reformed Church, at the southwest corner of West Front Street and South Lee Street.
