Sanctum of the Eknath Samadhi temple- surprisingly no one objected

A close view of the sanctum of the Eknath Samadhi temple in Paithan, near Aurangabad, Maharashtra. There was a lady in front of the sanctum- don't think she was the priest in attendance- no wonder she did not- nor did anyone else for that matter- object when I shot this picture. Of course, I was using only my iPhone 13 Pro Max and not my large Nikon, This shrine is located at Paithan on the banks of the Godavari river. Celebrations commemorating Eknath are held every year around the month of March at Paithan. Notes about Saint Eknath appear elsewhere in this album. (see previous pictures). Entrance to the Eknath Samadhi temple in Paithan, near Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The main shrine, behind this entrance, is made entirely of teak wood- sadly I did not know it at the time of my visit, or I might have spent more time admiring it. Oh well! Paithan was the hometown and place of samadhi (the final stage before death) of the great Marathi saint Eknath. Devotees of Eknath converge at this shrine in numbers during the Paithan yatra, (a long march procession) also known as the Nath Shashti. (Paithan, near Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Dec. 2022)

One of the many shops selling coloured powders, idols and other religious doodads on the pedestrianized street (which the Japanese would call a shotengai) leading to and from the Eknath Samadhi temple in Paithan, Maharashtra. The temple is built of teak wood (sadly I didn't know this at the time of my visit, otherwise I would have photographed it) on the banks of the Godavari. This store was so colourful that I simply had to take a picture of it! (Paithan, near Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Dec. 2022)

Closed market street leading to the Eknath temple in Paithan

Closed pedestrianized market street (which the Japanese would call a 'shotengai' leading to the Eknath samadhi temple in Paithan, Maharashtra. Eknath (circa1533–1599), commonly known as Sant Eknath was an Indian Hindu saint, philosopher and poet. He was a devotee of the Hindu deity Vitthal and is a major figure of the Warkari movement. Hindu saint standing on a lucky frog.

The frog represents feminine energy, ease in transition, emotional and spiritual cleansing, and exploring life in all its wonder.

A female deity standing on a frog, potentially Mandodari, 'the Frog Princess', or Parvati standing on Shiva as a frog. The work is of cast brass in the Dhokra style of Eastern India. Depicted is a female figure in relief with her right arm raised, wearing a dress which flares out to either side, fixed by a pin to a frog that was cast separately. The frog is flat,

So does this statute connect with this story?

Meanwhile, an apsara named Madhura arrives at Mount Kailash, the abode of Shiva, to pay her respects. In absence of his wife Parvati, Madhura has clandestine coitus with Shiva . When Parvati returns, she finds traces of ashes from Shiva’s body on the breasts of Madhura. Agitated, Parvati curses Madhura and sends her to live in a well as a frog for twelve years. Shiva consoles Madhura and says she will become a beautiful woman and be married to a great valorous man. After twelve years, Madhura becomes a beautiful maiden again and cries out loudly from the well. Mayasura and Hema, who are performing penance nearby, answer her call and adopt her as their daughter. They bring her up as Mandodari.
