On a very dull January afternoon Škoda 29 T 7430 plys it's trade on line 4 between Dúbravka, Pri kríži and Zlaté Piesky. At this point the road and tram lines run parallel with the Danube which is directly behind the Grand Hotel River Park - the grey building behind the tram and between the other two grey buildings(!)).
In view of the prevailing drab light conditions with the only real colour provided by the busy trams at work I decided to take an image and have a go at isolating just the Red in an image and converting to B&W. I choose this tram and this moment for my trial image but unbeknownst to me at the critical moment Hyundai i20 MA123CR crept up the inside like a Scarlet scallywag and photobombed me, the Crimson culprit then made off swiftly.
Happily, on reflection the joke's on the Vermilion villain as their timely intercession has, I think, improved my Ruddy rendition. I decided not to crop the Cerise scoundrel out and find the result pleasing. Time to break out the Claret I think and celebrate the creation of this Rose-tinted tableau.
Although the South Korean car giant responsible for the Ruby rascal does have a European manufacturing facility, at Nošovice in the Czech Republic, the i20 model is actually assembled at their facility based at Kozyatagi near Istanbul in Turkey.
One further colour-related point worth making while we're here is that Zlaté Piesky translates to English as 'Golden Sands', and is a location with good shopping and Bratislava's Porsche dealership, no I haven't been in but you get a good view of it from the bus!
